ABC Daily License Application

ABC Daily License Application Processing

To obtain law enforcement approval for an Alcoholic Beverage Control Daily License Application (ABC-221 Form), bring the completed application to the Elk Grove Police Department (8400 Laguna Palms Way, Elk Grove CA 95758).  Ensure that the application has been signed by the organization’s representative and the property owner.

The review of ABC Daily Licenses will occur twice weekly, in the order received.  There is no fee for law enforcement review and/or signature.  The police department requires the submittal of ABC License applications at least 10 days in advance of the event date to ensure it is properly processed in a timely manner.  Staff will call you when the approved application can be picked up at the police department.

Be advised that ABC requires the signed law enforcement approved application to be submitted to their office at least 10 days prior to the event.  Failure to meet their timelines may result in the delay of ABC approval, or the failure to have your application approved by the date of your event.

All events within the City of Elk Grove that operate under an ABC Daily License are required to have security on scene.  Please see below for the security guidelines:

150 estimated attendees = a minimum of 1 security officer

151 - 300 estimated attendees = a minimum of 2 security officers

301 - 500 estimated attendees = a minimum of 3 security officers

501+ estimated attendees = a minimum of 4 security officers

All security companies and/or security officers must hold valid licenses through the Department of Consumer Affairs Bureau of Security and Investigative Services, or be sworn peace officers within the State of California.  Security officers must be uniformed and may not take part in the event.  Note that events are evaluated on a case-by-case basis.  Depending on the nature and history of the event, more officers may be required.

After picking up the application from the police department, submit the application to the your local Alcoholic Beverage Control Office for licensing review and issuance.
