Elk Grove Police Investigate Fatal Collision

ELK GROVE, CA – On August 19, 2019 at 5:14 p.m., The Elk Grove Police Department responded to a collision involving a freight train and an unidentified male adult bicyclist in the area of Bond Road, east of Elk Grove Florin Road. The bicyclist was riding eastbound Bond Road, on the north side of the roadway as the train was traveling northbound when the collision took place. The bicyclist died as a result of his injuries.  Read More

ELK GROVE, CA – On Sunday, December 16, 2018 at approximately 12:05 a.m., officers were dispatched to Elk Grove Boulevard, just east of Interstate 5 regarding a vehicle parked on the shoulder of the eastbound roadway. Callers indicated that one of the subjects, an adult female, was lying on the roadway next to the driver’s door of the parked vehicle. The second subject, an adult male, was slumped over in the front passenger’s seat of the vehicle.  Read More

Elk Grove, CA— Police Department has been awarded an $188,000.00 grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) for a year-long enforcement and public awareness program.
